Bible Reading: Nehemiah 1 – 3; John 5
Scripture: ”He told them, ‘I have food to eat you know nothing about. The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work as he started.’ ” John 4: 32, 34 MSG.
Observation: Jesus met a woman in Samaria, which lead to a life changing encounter not just with the woman alone but with the entire community. Though tired and exhausted following the long journey to Samaria, Jesus declined to eat when offered food by His disciples. Surprised, the disciples wondered if someone had given Him some food and drink. Without much ado, Jesus made known to them, His deep passion for the work of the LORD and Father, which is the harvest of souls for the Kingdom describing this passion as His food.
Application: What drives me or what am I passionate about? I must know that God is not concerned about what I drive. He is more concerned about what drives me. My passion should therefore be God ward.
Prayer: May nothing else consume me more than doing the will of God the Father.
