A Lesson From David

”…that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul…” 1 Samuel 18:30

The more the plot against David gained momentum, the wiser he became in the presence of the King.  This no doubt endeared him to his colleagues and caused the King to be afraid of him.

The fact is, our reaction determines what we get. Even in the most adverse situations, we must tame our body. What would you have done if you were in David’s shoes? Would you have fought the King back? Would you have acknowledged the praises of the women? Or would you have humbled yourself as David did? A lot of us are in terrible situations today just because of our response to situations—a soft answer turns away wrath.

When was the last time you deliberately allowed your rights to be abused? ”Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? Why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded.” 1 Corinthians  6:7
